A river that branches from the Euphrates river (Furat). Beside it, Abul Fadhl Al Abbas was killed on Ashoora. Alqam means 'sour' in Arabic. It is told to every tree that is sour, or water that is sour. It is used very often in poetry when talking about Al-Abbas. Named Ghadireh from Bani Asad which is a village on the edges of Koofa near Karbala. It was established after the tribe of Bani Asad settled there. Imam Al Baqer said: "Al- Ghadhiriyyeh is where Allah spoke to Prophet Mosa (as), where he saved Prophet Nooh (as), it is one of the purest places on earth and therefore Allah put his Prophets there, so visit our graves in Al-Ghadhiriyyeh." It is also said that Imam Hussain bought this piece of land for 60,000 Dirhams and then gifted it to the land owners if they agreed to guide people to his grave and give them food for three days. The largest city in Syria. It was a scientific and historic city opened by the Muslims in 13 Hijreh. Mo'aweeyeh ruled it for 31 years. In it is the famous Umayyad Mosque, one of the largest Islamic mosques. In Damascus is also the grave of Ruqeyyeh, Imam Hussain's daughter. After Karbala, the women were brought to this city to Yazeed. Because of the lies the Umayyads (the ruling family) had spread, the people of Al-Sham came to hate Imam Ali and cursed him for over 80 years. For example, they would take a newly born goat and give it to a small boy. The boy would be with this goat for a year or so, then a caped man would come and kill the goat. Another man would then tell the crying child that Imam Ali came and killed the goat. La Ilah Illa Allah! The name of a place before Koofa. Here the well-known battle of Qadisyyeh occurred between the Muslims and the Persians during the reign of the second Caliph, where the Muslims came out victorious. Here is also where Al-Hussain Ibn Numair caught Imam Hussain's messenger Qais Ibn Musehher and sent him to Ibn Zyad. When Qais heard this he ripped Imam Hussain's book with his teeth and swallowed it. Deir Al Rahab (a Christian's cave) When the daughters of the Prophet came back from Karbala with all the heads of Imam Hussain and his companions held up on spears they passed by a Christian priest's praying place. The man came out and asked who they were. After a little talk he saw Imam Hussain's head. He agreed with the people holding the heads that he would pay them 10,000 Dirhams in order for him to have the head for one night. That night, he washed the head and saw a light forming around it. Because of many other miracles he saw from the head, he became a Muslim and a Shia, loyal to Ahl Albait. He served Ahl Albait until he was killed. A place near Koofa. It is one of many houses and in it was the prison of No'man. The area between Al Qatqatanyyeh and Al Qadesyyeh was blocked by Obaid Illah Ibn Zyad so that nobody could follow and join Imam Hussain's (as) army.
